Our bags are almost packed - and have been since about 8:30PM which is pretty much record breaking for us. Just a few things to finish up in the morning and then we're off!
Over the past few days there have been some last minute changes in flights (no longer going to Bolivia due to Yellow Fever vaccine and Visa requirements), last minute vaccinations, and last minute preparations. All in all - we are very fortunate to have had these past few weeks to prepare (one of the benefits of working in the school system!).
Although there is some anxiety over long flights with a sore back, not enough pillows to support a growing pregnant body, and potential effects of altitude (even though we live at a mile high), excitement is building and we are both ready to be there, get settled in, and find out what our work will entail. A trip to our midwife this morning left us feeling much less anxious about this choice we have made.....after all, she stated she thinks she should come along to be our tour guide! (Also her quoted in the title of this blog.)
We're mentally preparing ourselves to be ok with missing ice cubes, salads, regular tooth brushing routines, clean clothes, Meka and Gracie, and....did I mention....an abundance of pillows?
Until we arrive in Cusco, Peru, Adios!
