Here we are....after 34 hours of door to door travel from our temporary "home" in Puno, Peru to our stuffy home in Denver, Colorado. We arrived late yesterday afternoon, pets in tow thanks to Maki and Rob, and immediately ate salads, popsicles, and grilled cheese.
Never did we picture ourselves at this point in our lives with Starbucks coffee and McDonald's breakfast sandwiches on a table in front of us in the Mexico City airport. I guess this shows the point we were at in the airport food options....I don't forsee a picture like this ever again in our lives....at least not on OUR table. We felt partly guilty for participating in those corporate ideas we try to avoid, but strangely satisfied....
Today is going to be a day of relaxation, laundry, purchasing running shoes (as we both left ours in our hotel to make more room for souvenirs), and grocery shopping. Todd leaves for Minneapolis tomorrow morning for a good friend's wedding, and Correne plans to relax, spend quality time with Meka and Gracie, and eat her many missed doses of ice cream all weekend. No more planes for her a while as we realized they are not made specifically for pregnant women.
We hope you have all enjoyed the blog....thanks for tuning in! It was fun to feel like we were able to share our experiences with you as they were occurring. Thanks for being so supportive and helpful as we headed out on this journey - it was an amazing experience!
Of course, there are many more experiences that we did not share in the blog, and we look forward to talking to you soon to share our stories and adventures! Until then, Take care!
Much love,
C & T
